How Long Will It Take Me to Get Connected?

We know you want to get online fast — that's why we make the setup process as simple and efficient as possible. The exact time it takes to connect your Ezi Broadband service depends on your nbn® technology type and whether a technician visit is required.

What to expect after you order

Step 1: We ship your modem

If you've ordered a modem from us, we'll ship it the same day for orders placed before 1pm, or the next business day if after 1pm.

  • Metro areas: usually 1–3 business days
  • Regional areas: may take a little longer (Australia Post dependent)

You'll receive an email with tracking details as soon as it's on the way.

Step 2: We activate your service

Your connection activates automatically based on your setup:

  1. If you have elected to use your own modem and selected "ASAP" we will activate your internet as soon as your order is proccessed.
  2. If you purchase a modem from Ezi Broadband, we willo activate your service as soon as the modem is delivered.
  3. If you select an activation date during the order process, your service will be activated on that date.
  4. If you elected for a free fibre upgrade or you needed a technician visit, your service will be activated upon completion of that appointment.

Step 3: We'll let you know

You'll get an email or SMS as soon as your service is connected and ready to use.

Typical connection timeframes

If your nbn® equipment is already installed and powered on, your service will usually be active within 5 business days of placing your order — and in some cases, it can be up and running in under an hour.

If an installation appointment is needed, the average wait time is 1 to 4 weeks, depending on technician availability in your area. We'll confirm your appointment date and time via email shortly after your order is submitted.

Important: Delays can occur if your nbn® devices (like the connection box or power supply) are not plugged in and powered on.

What happens next

  1. You'll receive a confirmation email as soon as your order is placed.
  2. We'll lodge your connection with nbn® Co and keep you updated every step of the way.
  3. You'll receive an activation email when your service is ready to go.
  4. If you ordered a modem from us, it will arrive pre-configured — just plug it in once your service is active.

Haven't been connected yet?

If it's been more than 6 hours since setup (or your appointment has passed) and you're still not online, reach out — we'll sort it quickly:

  1. Visit our website and speak to Eve, our AI assistant, in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  2. If you'd rather chat with a human, just let Eve know and you'll be transferred to a real person within the same chat window.
