If your internet has suddenly stopped working or slowed down, there may be an nbn® network outage or planned maintenance in your area. Checking for outages is quick and can help determine whether the issue is with your equipment or the wider network.
Step 1: Visit the Official nbn® Network Status Page
This page shows:
Current outages and planned maintenance in your area.
The type of work being carried out (for example, network upgrades or repairs).
The expected restoration time, if available.
Step 2: Enter Your Address
In the search box on the nbn® status page:
Type your full address, including suburb and postcode.
Click Search or Check address.
The page will show whether there's:
A known outage affecting your connection.
Planned maintenance scheduled in your area.
Or no issues detected (meaning your connection issue may be local).
Step 3: What to Do Next
If there is an outage, your connection will automatically come back online once the work is complete. No action is needed.
If there isn't an outage, follow our guide "My internet isn't working — what should I do?" to troubleshoot your equipment and connection.
